Install & requirements
Dragon VE is a native desktop app. Download the installer for your system from the releases page.

Recommended hardware
- Graphics: a GPU with DirectX 12 on Windows, or any Apple silicon Mac. Preview, effects and compositing run on the GPU.
- Memory: 16 GB is comfortable for 1080p and 4K footage; 8 GB works for lighter projects.
- Storage: an SSD with free space for proxies, waveforms and caches beside your media.
Dragon VE reads your machine when it starts and adapts — it chooses the graphics adapter, the hardware video encoders it can use and how many cores to spend on export.
